14th August Macrame Workshop
£35.00
Our macrame artist, Tracyann of IzzyB Creates, has many years experience in the ancient art of knotting.
Macrame is the art of knotting with yarn or string and can be traced back to the 13th Century. It has had a few resurgences; maybe most notably in the 70’s (when Tracyann learnt it) and it is again having a revival.
During this session you will learn the 3 most important knots that can be used to create almost anything; macrame isn’t just the humble plant holder. Armed with these basic knots you will be able to make wall hangings, jewellery, bags, clothing, 3d animals and much much more.
After being shown and then practising the knots you can choose to make a plant holder or a wall hanging during this session. You’ll be able to take your finished piece home along with full written and photographic instructions.
Suitable for beginners or those who have tried it before, the session will be 2.5 hours and include tea, coffee and cake.
All materials will be provided and you will have a choice of natural and coloured cords.
2.00-4.30 pm.
